Tiling my bathroom

I embarked on a tiling project for my bathroom, I didn't want to renew the whole lot because of only having a small budget, but i figured a new screen on the bath for the shower and a re-tile would make it look ten times better than it was looking with plain white 6" tiles everywhere.
My wife and I spent quite a while choosing a nice natural stone effect ceramic wall tile and a border to top it off.
It started off really well and initial progress was quite good, but as i got to the first small section of wall where the border was meant to go there the problem started. The border was a pebble type of thing on a mesh backing and they were slightly wider than the tiles.
This meant I had to either take the top tile off and try and pack it out or, the border was going to over hang the wall tile - this looked pretty awful and there was no way the wife would have been happy, so I had to take the dozen or so tiles off the wall. Fortunately, as I had already cut the tiles and everything was in position, I fixed the border tile on first, then worked down, packing out the tiles with adhesive and making sure they were flush for the with the spirit level when checking they are vertical.

Are you looking for Tiles for the Bathroom

Many people at this time of year are looking to buy new tiles for the bathroom, having decided on their sanitaryware and taps.
From someone who is interested in different designs of bathroom tiles and kitchens, and seeing how easy it can be compared to hard some people decide to make it, the internet v retail shops or warehouses can always be interesting.
I set a goal for myself and that was to set a budget of £3,000 to buy a new bathroom, complete with shower, either over the bath or seperate, taps, tiles, and flooring. I forced myself not to impulse buy, but to take the dimensions with me, and see how helpful sales people were, or maybe too pushy. Well to cut a long story short, i visited my local city where i knew there were 3 high street stores, and then to jump back in the car and visit 2 trade park set ups. At the end of day 1, I had spent 6 hrs of my time, had collected a handful of brochures, and only 1 quote, this was for £4,360!!!
After my tea I decided to sit down and check the internet, in 45 minutes I had visited a number of websites, used online tools, to help me measure and ordered brochures and samples! and that included putting together a price for £3,250... i found a site, although a bit slow had great high class showers and baths in cubicles and jacuzzi bath styles, and a great bathroom tile site with Laura Ashley tiles and a good tile calculator.
In my mind time very well spent. I will post day 2 soon...
