I embarked on a tiling project for my bathroom, I didn't want to renew the whole lot because of only having a small budget, but i figured a new screen on the bath for the shower and a re-tile would make it look ten times better than it was looking with plain white 6" tiles everywhere.
My wife and I spent quite a while choosing a nice natural stone effect ceramic wall tile and a border to top it off.
It started off really well and initial progress was quite good, but as i got to the first small section of wall where the border was meant to go there the problem started. The border was a pebble type of thing on a mesh backing and they were slightly wider than the tiles.
This meant I had to either take the top tile off and try and pack it out or, the border was going to over hang the wall tile - this looked pretty awful and there was no way the wife would have been happy, so I had to take the dozen or so tiles off the wall. Fortunately, as I had already cut the tiles and everything was in position, I fixed the border tile on first, then worked down, packing out the tiles with adhesive and making sure they were flush for the with the spirit level when checking they are vertical.
